Interested Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to submit a one-page exposé of their proposed presentation topic. The exposé should address the following points:
o The topic:What is your research question?
o The hypothesis: What are the ideas challenged/to be tested?
o The methodological framework: How are you going to answer your question(s)?
o The potential results: What is your preliminary conclusion on the hypotheses?
o The novelty: What are the points no one else has made so far (or not in this way)?
o The stage of your research: When did you start, when will your thesis be finalized?

High Level Course on ECJ Case Law

The Centre of Excellence Jean Monnet of the University of Valencia, and the Jean Monnet Chair ‘EU Law and Taxation’ organizes a High Level Course on ECJ Case Law in Tax Matters.
The Course will be taught in English by leading experts, professors and professionals from different European Universities and will cover the most interesting, relevant and actual topics of the EUCJ case law on direct tax matters and fundamental freedoms.
The Course will be taught intensively during 20 hours starting from Monday 9th June evening, and during 10th and 11th June the whole day. Evening lectures will run from 16.00 til 20.30 hours. Morning lectures will run from 9.00 til 13.30 hours.

The University of Valencia (Spain), the University of Bergamo (Italy), the University of Linz (Austria), the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) invite you to participate in a meeting for Ph.D. Candidates in the field of International, European and Comparative Tax Law on Thursday and Friday 12th and 13th June 2014.

This meeting is open to Ph.D. Candidates who want to present the main findings of their research. Each presentation will be supplemented and followed by intensive discussions on the topics raised to provide an intellectually challenging and interactive forum.

The number of presentations is limited to 12. Please RSVP by e-mail until 1 April 2014 to cejm@uv.es . Please include a one-page exposé of your research or presentation topic.  The result of the selection process will be communicated to the candidates before 1 May 2014.

Participation in the Seminar on International and EU Tax Law is free of charge. Participants will bear their own costs of travel and accommodation.
